Revolutionizing Hydration: The Memobottle

Jesse Leeworthy Designs a Slim, Reusable Water Bottle to Inspire a More Sustainable Society

Addressing the increasing environmental issues caused by single-use plastic bottles, designer Jesse Leeworthy introduces the memobottle, a slim, reusable water bottle that fits seamlessly into daily life. This innovative design, which has won the prestigious Golden A' Design Award, aims to inspire a more sustainable society while balancing convenience and environmental responsibility.

The memobottle was born out of two main frustrations that Leeworthy observed in society: the increasing number of plastic water bottles ending up in our waterways and landfills, and the inconvenience of transporting traditional round water bottles. The memobottle, with its unique flat design, is a response to these issues.

Unlike traditional round water bottles, the memobottle takes on the dimensions of the A5 and A6 international paper sizes, allowing it to conveniently slide into laptop bags, carry bags, or even pockets. This design is not only optimized for transportation but also maintains the functionality of traditional water bottles. The memobottle's transparency and minimalistic design have made it one of the design icons of the year.

The memobottle is produced using a refined adaptation of extrusion blow moulding, a process that was extensively refined to achieve the bottle's clarity. It is made from BPA-Free, FDA-approved, cradle-to-cradle certified plastic. The A6 memobottle holds 375ml (13 fl oz) and the A5 holds 750ml (25.4 fl oz), both are freezer friendly.

Leeworthy's design is not just about aesthetics and convenience; it carries a strong environmental message. Single-use bottle consumption has skyrocketed in recent years, with devastating effects on the environment. The memobottle aims to reduce single-use bottle consumption and inspire a reusable society. It is a vehicle that changes society's mentality around how water can be transported and consumed.

The memobottle is a testament to the power of design in driving societal change. It is a product that combines form and function to address a pressing environmental issue. The memobottle is more than just a water bottle; it is a statement about our responsibility towards the environment and a step towards a more sustainable future.
